Update membership regarding the evaluation/observation process
Dear Colleagues: I just wanted to update membership regarding the evaluation/observation process. GEA Leadership members meet weekly with Superintendent Ferrick. This past Wednesday, Superintendent Ferrick brought to the discussion a few talking points regarding the evaluation/observation process. Some discussion points that were brought up at the meeting were: more frequent, shorter observations, shared district wide goals for members and specific focus on two standards on the evaluation: Element I.A.3 Well Structured Lessons: Standards based units, challenging tasks, well structured, measurable outcomes Element II.B.1 Safe Learning Environment: Rituals and routines, Appropriate responses, Behaviors prevented. To be clear, any change to our existing evaluation/observation process must be negotiated. That point was made very clear to Superintendent Ferrick.
